2024 Spring Spaghetti Dinner

Washington Township - This year, thanks be to God, nothing of significance broke to hinder our return to both take-out and dine-in service for our 2024 Spring spaghetti dinner. The return to sit-down dining was a great success and one to be savored.

Stockertown - March 1, 2024. The Nazareth Area Society of Model Engineers, NASME, hosted a special evening of tours of their facility exclusively for the area's Knights of Columbus. Their facility is located at 212 Main St. in Stockertown.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - February 25, 2024. The 200 Club's 2023 season drew to a close with the luncheon provided by Carol's Catering. It was nice to get together again with so many of our friends and supporters. A good time was had by all.

PEN ARGYL - February 02, 2024. Each year, our council holds a basketball free-throw contest. This takes place in January, as a rule, but was postponed from its original date of January 19 to the first available date on February 2, a.k.a. Ground Hog Day.

WIND GAP - January 13, 2024. Each year on the Saturday following the Epiphany, a sturdy bunch of Knights descends on the nativity scene erected over the monument in Wind Gap for the purpose of gentle destruction. All those nicely painted pieces must be disassembled, transported back to the Council Home and safely stored.

WIND GAP - November 18, 2023. Each year on the Saturday preceding Thanksgiving, an intrepid group of Knights meets at the council home to gather the constituent pieces of the nativity scene. After a short trip to the monument in Wind Gap, all those nicely painted pieces are assembled into a somewhat figurative depiction of the birth narrative of our Lord, Jesus. More accurately, the figures present would suggest the Epiphany.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - November 12, 2023. This was the much-anticipated return to sit-down dining. A great deal of work had been done in preparation to make this event a success.
We thought we had planned for everything - more food, supplies, plenty of manpower. By 9 am, the pasta pots were filled, the coffee pots plugged in and *poof*! The electricity went crazy and the water pressure fell to zero. After some troubleshooting, the problem was isolated and to our dismay, the well pump was the culprit, dead.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - Saturday, November 11 was preparation day for the Fall spaghetti dinner to be held the following day. The crew was the usual mixture of seasoned veterans along with a few welcome newbies. The anticipated number of meals to be prepared was an all-time high of a little under 500. This necessitated some extra batches of sauce, meatballs and logistics.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - On October 7, 2023 the 69th annual dinner dance was held at our Council Home. As in the past, all present thoroughly enjoyed themselves during an evening of food, drink, conversation and even some dancing!
The focal point of the event was the Knight of the Year ceremony. The presentation was made by last year's Knight of the Year, Chris Koch.The focal point of the event was the Knight of the Year ceremony. Palmer Twp. - On September 30, 2023, representatives from the Fr. DeNisco council presented a check for $1,800 to the Miracle League of Northampton County. Sincere appreciation for our donation was expressed by those present and will be on display in the form of a banner bearing our council's name and number for the upcoming season. WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - Sept. 16, 2023. Members of the Fr. DeNisco Council of the Knights of Columbus participated in the second of our two scheduled car washes. We earned $425 for the charitable "car wash fund." Unlike some past years, the weather was just perfect for both car washes! As you can see from the pictures, we had a great number of knights come to join in the work.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - June 17, 2023. Members of the Fr. DeNisco Council of the Knights of Columbus participated in the first of our two scheduled car washes.
Unlike some past years, the weather was just perfect for a car wash. As you can see from the pictures, we had a great number of knights come to join in the work. This was good because, the community likewise responded with a great number of cars to be washed.

Miracle League collection 2023

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - May 20, 2023. Members of the Fr. DeNisco Council of the Knights of Columbus participated in the annual "coin toss" collection for the Miracle League of Northampton County PA.
Although the weather was mostly misty and threatening of worse, the generosity of the community once again warmed our hearts and renewed our faith in God working through our humanity. We were hoping to collect at least as much as last year and within four hours that goal was met. The Council later added to the collected amount for a total of $1,800.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - On April 8, 2023, the Fr. DeNisco Council (#3862) of the Knights of Columbus, located in Bangor, held its annual Easter egg hunt the Saturday before Easter.

PALMER - At the June 8th games of the Miracle League of Northampton County, members of the Knights of Columbus Father DeNisco Council #3862 made a presentation to MLNC for $1,250 which they raised in their annual fund drive in Pen Argyl. The following members also served as concession volunteers during the games: Greg Findon (Grand Knight), Mark Kukla, Chris Koch, Joe DeFranco, Mike Cali and John Dunbar.

Turkeys and sides donated to food pantry

WIND GAP - Each year, during the lead up to Christmas, the Fr. DeNisco Council of the Knights of Columbus procures and donates frozen turkeys and ingredients for side dishes to the St. Elizabeth / St. Joseph Food Ministry located at 231 N. Lehigh Ave. in Wind Gap. Food was provided for approximately 150 needy families in the Slate Belt area.

Meeting schedule

We hold our business meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in our Council Home *.
(Please, KofC members only.)

Our Social meeting is held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30, in our Council Home *.
Prospective members are welcome!
There are no social meetings during July, August, November and December.
