2024 Spring Spaghetti Dinner
Washington Township - This year, thanks be to God, nothing of significance broke to hinder our return to both take-out and dine-in service for our 2024 Spring spaghetti dinner. The return to sit-down dining was a great success and one to be savored.
2024 KofC night at the NASME
Stockertown - March 1, 2024. The Nazareth Area Society of Model Engineers, NASME, hosted a special evening of tours of their facility exclusively for the area's Knights of Columbus. Their facility is located at 212 Main St. in Stockertown.
2024 200 Club Luncheon
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - February 25, 2024. The 200 Club's 2023
season drew to a close with the luncheon provided by Carol's Catering. It was
nice to get together again with so many of our friends and supporters. A good
time was had by all.
Tickets are still available for the 2024 season. Call John Dunbar at

2024 Free Throw Championship
PEN ARGYL - February 02, 2024. Each year, our council holds a basketball free-throw contest. This takes place in January, as a rule, but was postponed from its original date of January 19 to the first available date on February 2, a.k.a. Ground Hog Day.
2024 Nativity Tear Down
WIND GAP - January 13, 2024. Each year on the Saturday following the Epiphany, a sturdy bunch of Knights descends on the nativity scene erected over the monument in Wind Gap for the purpose of gentle destruction. All those nicely painted pieces must be disassembled, transported back to the Council Home and safely stored.
2023 Nativity Scene set up
WIND GAP - November 18, 2023. Each year on the Saturday preceding Thanksgiving, an intrepid group of Knights meets at the council home to gather the constituent pieces of the nativity scene. After a short trip to the monument in Wind Gap, all those nicely painted pieces are assembled into a somewhat figurative depiction of the birth narrative of our Lord, Jesus. More accurately, the figures present would suggest the Epiphany.
2023 Fall spaghetti dinner
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - November 12, 2023. This
was the much-anticipated return to sit-down dining. A great deal of work had
been done in preparation to make this event a success.
We thought we had planned for everything - more food, supplies,
plenty of manpower. By 9 am, the pasta pots were filled, the coffee pots
plugged in and *poof*! The electricity went crazy and the water pressure fell to
zero. After some troubleshooting, the problem was isolated and to our dismay,
the well pump was the culprit, dead.
2023 Fall Spaghetti Dinner Preparation
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - Saturday, November 11 was preparation day for the Fall spaghetti dinner to be held the following day. The crew was the usual mixture of seasoned veterans along with a few welcome newbies. The anticipated number of meals to be prepared was an all-time high of a little under 500. This necessitated some extra batches of sauce, meatballs and logistics.
Dinner dance/Knight of the Year
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - On October 7, 2023 the
69th annual dinner dance was held at our Council Home. As in the
past,
all present thoroughly enjoyed themselves during an evening of food, drink,
conversation and even some dancing!
The focal point of the event was the Knight of the Year ceremony. The
presentation was made by last year's Knight of the Year, Chris Koch.The focal

Miracle League check presentation 2023
Palmer Twp. - On September 30, 2023, representatives from the Fr. DeNisco council presented a check for $1,800 to the Miracle League of Northampton County. Sincere appreciation for our donation was expressed by those present and will be on display in the form of a banner bearing our council's name and number for the upcoming season. Car wash #2 - 2023
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - Sept. 16, 2023. Members of the Fr. DeNisco Council of the Knights of Columbus participated in the second of our two scheduled car washes. We earned $425 for the charitable "car wash fund." Unlike some past years, the weather was just perfect for both car washes! As you can see from the pictures, we had a great number of knights come to join in the work.

Bethlehem - August 19, 2023. Grand Knight, Scott Moyer and baby bottle campaign Committee chairman, Tom Miller, presented a check from our council for $6,600.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - June 27, 2023. In recent years, it has become a tradition to shake out the baby bottles collected on Father's Day weekend during our June social meeting.

Our Council has been blessed by having Monsignor Vincent York serve as our Chaplain for the past year. Best wishes for happy and fruitful retirement, beloved Chaplain and brother.
2023 Car wash #1
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - June 17, 2023. Members of
the Fr. DeNisco Council of the Knights of Columbus participated in
the first of our two scheduled car washes.
Unlike some past years, the weather was just perfect for a car wash.
As you can see from the pictures, we had a great number of knights come to
join
in the work. This was good because, the community likewise responded with a
great
number of cars to be washed.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - June 13, 2023. For our new fraternal year beginning on July 1, 2023, our council affirmed the proposed slate of officers without further nominations. Congratulation to our new and returning officers.
Miracle League collection 2023
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - May 20, 2023. Members of
the Fr. DeNisco Council of the Knights of Columbus participated in
the annual "coin toss" collection for the Miracle League of
Northampton County
PA.
Although the weather was mostly misty and threatening of
worse, the
generosity of the community once again warmed our hearts and renewed
our faith in
God working through our humanity. We were hoping to collect at least
as much as
last year and within four hours that goal was met. The Council later
added to the
collected amount for a total of $1,800.
Easter egg hunt 2023
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - On April 8, 2023, the Fr.
DeNisco Council (#3862) of the Knights of Columbus, located in
Bangor, held its annual Easter egg hunt the Saturday before
Easter.
It was reassuring to observe that the Easter bunny was in good
standing with the local police. Pictured here with EB is our good

Cay Galgon Life House thanks KofC
BETHLEHEM - At its 2023 Gala, the Cay Galgon Life House recognized local Knights of Columbus councils for their important contributions through their baby bottle campaigns. Grand Knight, Jim Rose and Chairman, Tom Miller were present to receive our award.

PALMER TOWNSHIP - October 8, 2022. Grand Knight Jim Rose and other representatives of our council proudly presented a check for $1,825 to the Miracle League of Northampton County.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP - October 1, 2022. The council held its 68th annual dinner dance. By all accounts, it was a rousing success. Those in attendance enjoyed good food, drink, music, conversation and some even danced!

PEN ARGYL - Sunday, June 20, 2021, Father’s Day, the Sir Knights of the Pope Pius XII Assembly Chalice Fund presented chalices to be taken to Parishes and Missions in the Philippines.

At our social meeting in September, we celebrated Bill Kerler's 90th birthday with a card, cake and many happy birthday wishes.

Miracle League check presentation 2019
PALMER - At the June 8th games of the Miracle League of Northampton County, members of the Knights of Columbus Father DeNisco Council #3862 made a presentation to MLNC for $1,250 which they raised in their annual fund drive in Pen Argyl. The following members also served as concession volunteers during the games: Greg Findon (Grand Knight), Mark Kukla, Chris Koch, Joe DeFranco, Mike Cali and John Dunbar.
Turkeys and sides donated to food pantry
WIND GAP - Each year, during the lead up to Christmas, the Fr. DeNisco Council of the Knights of Columbus procures and donates frozen turkeys and ingredients for side dishes to the St. Elizabeth / St. Joseph Food Ministry located at 231 N. Lehigh Ave. in Wind Gap. Food was provided for approximately 150 needy families in the Slate Belt area.

WIND GAP - On November 17, 2018, a team of volunteers from the Fr. DeNisco Council #3862 of the Knights of Columbus in Bangor assembled the Nativity scene at the site of the monument in Wind Gap.
